NPT or National Pipe Thread is common throughout the medical and industrial gas industry. 1/4" as 1/8" NPT are among the most common. These fittings are caste in various metals such as brass, stainless and chrome plated. NPT fittings are tapered for sealing, often without any thread sealant and are made for connections in nearly every type of service.
